$5 Digital Bust Sketch Commissions Available!

Mon Aug 24, 2009, 12:05 PM
Hey, so here's the deal. My sister's getting married two days after Christmas. Me and my spouse don't exactly have a ton of money, so I'm hoping to bring in a few extra bucks with commissions. So! In addition to the usual commission slots that I run, I'm opening up some cheap digital-only bust sketch commissions at $5 each! Visit my commission info page to see what my terms are. I usually allow a couple free revisions, but since these are digital sketch commissions, to protect my own interests, I'll be charging an additional .50 for the first two revisions, and $1 for each additional revision, with a limit of five total revisions available. If you are unsatisfied with what you see past this point, we can discuss further options. But I doubt that many revisions will really be necessary. ;)

Revisions versus Adjustments: If you think the hair style isn't quite right, or you'd like something small removed, like a flower on the lapel or something small like that, I don't consider this a revision. Revisions are repositioning of the character, drastically changing the facial expression, changing an entire outfit, etc. Anything that's going to take more than five minutes to adjust, basically. I allow as many as five free small adjustments before I start applying my revision charges, in the same order of 50 cents for the first two, and $1 for each additional.

Again, these are digital only, so no shipping charges apply because there will be no shipping! =D

So to sum up:

-$5 (per character) bust sketch commissions.
-Human and Anthro characters both welcome! Feral isn't a particular strength of mine, but I'm willing to try it!
-50 cents for first two revisions, $1 for each additional revision.
-Five free minor adjustments, then 50 cents for the next two adjustments, and $1 for each additional adjustment.
-Paypal or money order accepted.
-No shipping, digital only!
-Previews will be sent as small files, the final commission file will be full sized and printable. They will be 5 x 7" and 300 dpi. I am not a print service, so this is a possibility you must pursue elsewhere.*
-Payment due in advance. Revision charges due before I apply any revisions to the work.
-I reserve the right to refuse a commission request for any reason, or to cancel a commission if I deem it necessary. Depending on the situation, a full or partial refund may or may not be offered, depending on how much time I have put into the commission.

What I expect from the buyer:

-Full description of your character. Remember, the more detailed/specific you are, the fewer revisions there will be.
-Ref picture (send as many ref pics as you like, the more the merrier). If there are no visual refs available, make certain that your written description is extremely detailed so that there aren't any misunderstandings. We're talking painfully detailed here! =D
-Descriptions of your character's personality and interests are very useful in posing, so please send those.
-If your character is a carbon copy of you IRL, but just anthro rather than human, you may (if you feel comfortable) send photos of yourself, as I might find these helpful with hair color, eye color, personality, etc.
-I'm going to be very busy these next few months, so I'd appreciate as much punctuality in communications as possible. I understand how life works and how busy we all get, so I can certainly be patient. I'd just prefer that your commission doesn't drag on and on for months because of delayed communication. If at all possible, please don't keep me waiting, and I will endeavor to do the same for you, and everyone will be happy that way! Hooray! =D If something happens to your computer or internet service or something, if at all possible, could you ask a friend to let me know so that I'm aware of what's going on? That would be super. And again, I'll do the same for you if something happens on my end.
-Considering I'm going to be dealing with wedding details, plus my own family responsibilities and such, I'd really appreciate your patience. I'm usually extremely punctual, and like to get a commission done ASAP, so I don't think you'll have to worry much.

Well, this ended up being ridiculously wordy, so I apologize for that! I never seem to be able to keep it short I'm afraid... =P

Last but not least, here are a couple examples of my digital sketches. Just bear in mind, these commissions are for bust-only sketches. I sketch in layers in Photoshop, and when I upload a sketch I tend to include all or most layers. Just let me know if you want all the layers included, or just the surface ones. (What I mean is, do you want to see the body under the clothing, or not? That kind of thing.)

*I don't mind posting your file as an available print on dA, if you want to order through them. I just don't personally find it worthwhile to do all the printing and shipping myself, being primarily homebound with medical issues and so forth. But if you want to order through me, dA is what I offer as an option. Otherwise, you must find someone in your town or on the web to print it for you (which would be decidedly cheaper than dA, I might add, plus you wouldn't run the risk of other people ordering prints of your character, which might be kinda weird)!
